Spiced Gravenstein Apple Pudding Trifle

Ingredients:
  •   CAKE
  • 1 box  spice cake mix - Duncan Hines
  • 3  extra large eggs
  • 1  cup  Kozlowski Farms Gravenstein Apple Cider
  • 1/2  cup  Crisco Butter Flavor All Vegetable Shortening (room temperature)
  • 1-1/2  cups peeled and shredded Gravenstein apples
  •   PUDDING
  • 1-1/2  cups sugar
  • 1/2  teaspoon  cinnamon
  • 2  cups Kozlowski Farms Gravenstein Apple Cider
  • 1-3 oz. box  lemon Jello
  •   juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2  cup  Kozlowski Farms Apple Syrup & Sauce
  • 5  cups (5 large) Gravenstein apples, peeled and sliced in 1/4-1/2 inch sections
  • 1  teaspoon  vanilla
  •   WHIPPING CREAM
  • 2  cups Clover heavy whipping cream, well chilled
  • 1/4  teaspoon  cinnamon
  • 4  tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1  teaspoon  vanilla
Directions:
Cake:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in mixer at low speed to blend. Increase to medium speed and beat for 2 minutes. Pour into two 9-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Pudding:

Mix sugar, cinnamon, Kozlowski Farms Gravenstein Apple Cider, lemon Jello, lemon juice, Kozlowski Farms Apple Syrup & Sauce and Gravenstein apples together in a large deep dish frying pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer and cook for five minutes, until apples become wilted. Turn off heat and add vanilla. Set aside and allow pudding to cool to room temperature, about 1 hour.

Whipping Cream:

Whip cream to soft peaks. Turn off mixer and add cinnamon, sugar and vanilla. Continue whipping until blended. Do not overwhip. Cut cake into 1-inch cubes. In a large clear glass trifle bowl, layer cake, apple pudding and whipped cream. Continue layering, ending with whipped cream. Garnish with mint and serve. Enjoy!
